Phuong Linh Nguyen

Vietnam / A+ Works of Art

Nguyen Phuong Linh’s multidisciplinary practice spans video and installation. She focuses on Vietnam’s geographic cultural shift, traditional roots and fragmented history. Her works contemplate upon the visible/invisible truth, form and time, and convey a pervasive sense of dislocation and the ephemeral. She lives and works in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Nguyen received Hans Nefkens BACC award in 2018 and Pollock Krasner award in 2017. She exhibited internationally with solo and group exhibitions in Asian Pacific Biennale (Brisbane 2021), San Art Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh city 2020), The Factory Contemporary Art Center (Ho Chi Minh city 2019), BACC (Bangkok 2018), Goethe Institute (Hanoi 2017), Singapore, Shanghai and Kuandu Biennales (2016), Nha San Collective (Hanoi, 2015), HIWAR Darat Al Funnun (Jordan 2013), among others.

In 2013, Nguyen co-founded and co-directed Nha San Collective, an initiative for exchanges, expansions and a just-do-it attitude which doesn’t always yield answers. In 2022, Nguyen and her friends presented their practice at Documenta 15 in Kassel.

Nguyen Phuong Linh is presenting her film at S.E.A. Focus Fringe Film Programme 2023, OFF Focus.
