Sri, a short biography of a genocide survivor, is a performance by artist Agung Kurniawan from ROH which intends to bring the Indonesian mass killings of 1965-66 into the larger public collective memory. Although stories about the genocide have always been silenced, the tragedy and the impact of the gruesome cruelty on Southeast Asia’s geopolitical map must be remembered. The hundreds of thousands of victims must be recognised as victims, not criminals.

Through involving the audience members, the performance will commemorate this dark history of humanity in a humble yet personal way.
