Artinformal was established in 2004 by Tina Fernandez with a group of contemporary Filipino artists as an initiative to bring art and its practice closer to the community through programs of exhibitions and art education. Its attendant gallery space, established two years later, promotes and features a broad range of art forms to the public — from sculpture, painting, pottery, installation, multimedia, performances — all under the rubric of creative exchange and encounters. In 2018, Artinformal opened a new space in Makati City. The new space has three exhibition spaces, featuring solo exhibitions by selcted artists while the original gallery in Greenhills shows curator-led group exhibitions.
Artinformal progressively promotes Filipino artists in art markets and cultural institutions in Asia and elsewhere, affirming the dynamic relations and developments in the region and the strength of its creative and cultural industries. It represents a platform of artistic independence and creative enterprise.
