#SEAspotlight: Bangkok — Bangkok CityCity Gallery, N22 & Nova Contemporary

This week curator Tan Siuli accompanies us to Bangkok, Thailand, to check out the city’s burgeoning art scene.

Bangkok is a great starting point for discovering what the Thai creative scene has to offer today because of the spectrum of art spaces that you can find here.

— Tan Siuli, Head of Collections and Senior Curator, Singapore Art Museum

We chat with Jirat Ratthawongjirakul, Gallery Director of Gallery VER and co-founder of N22, an artist-run art hub comprising seven art spaces and three artist studios that provide visibility to emerging Thai contemporary artists.

We visit Nova Contemporary, a gallery which showcases exceptional Thai artists with an aim to cultivate the reciprocal exchange of Thailand’s contemporary art and culture to Southeast Asia and beyond.

We end our tour at Bangkok CityCity Gallery which supports visionary artists and acts as a platform for discussion – bridging people from different backgrounds and opening up to new ways of thinking through series of contemporary art exhibitions and events.
