#SEAspotlight: Ho Chi Minh City — Galerie Quynh & The Factory

We travel to Ho Chi Minh City, a vibrant and busy locale full of cutting-edge art spaces! One of the leading contemporary art galleries in Vietnam is Galerie Quynh, helmed by Quynh Pham since 2003.

“My wish for Vietnamese art and Southeast Asian art is to continue to nurture and cultivate relationships within the community and the region.”

— Quynh Pham, Principal and Director, Galerie Quynh Contemporary Art

Also along the HCMC trail is The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, the first purpose-built, non-profit space for contemporary art in Vietnam. It has a unique social enterprise model and mission. We speak with Bill Nguyen, Curatorial Assistant, to find out more.

“The mission of The Factory is to promote the interdisciplinary nature of how local artists are working today. We give equal attention at The Factory to the artists, the thinkers, and the audience.”

— Bill Nguyen, Curatorial Assistant, The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre
