In 2021, while going through chemotherapy and losing most of his vision, founder Lim Chiao Woon, a corporate rat with no formal art education, received an encouraging nudge from Ai Weiwei to create this. It is a fiercely independent, eclectic, and whimsical gallery. A space by a fanatic, for fanatics all over the world. Since then, the gallery has helped raise the profile and income of many “outsider” artists by fusing their practice with the guidance and inspiration of top curators, collectors, and museum-level artists. It’s barely profitable but 1000% rewarding.
